The MWL Foundation

Incorporated in 2014, the Minnesota Women Lawyers Foundation is a 501(c)(3) charitable nonprofit organization created to support the charitable activities of Minnesota Women Lawyers and its efforts to advance the success of women attorneys and strive for a just society. Donations are tax-deductible as charitable contributions to the extent allowed by law.  


The MWL Foundation's Congratulations its 2019 Scholarship Recipients


The Minnesota Women Lawyers Foundation is pleased to announce its 2019 Law Student Scholarship and Leslie Altman Memorial Scholarship recipients.  The scholarships were presented at the 25th Annual MWL Rosalie Wahl Leadership Lecture on Wednesday, October 23, 2019 at Prime Therapeutics.  The Minnesota Women Lawyers Foundation was honored to present its 2019 Law Student Scholarship to Michelle Gonzalez, University of St. Thomas School of Law.  The Minnesota Women Lawyers Foundation was honored to present the 2019 Leslie Altman Memorial Scholarship to Macy Anderson, Mitchell Hamline School of Law Student.

The MWL Foundation's First Annual Live Auction

The MWL Foundation was pleased to hold its first-ever live auction at the MWL Wahl Leadership Lecture on October 23, 2019. Colleagues and friends gathered for an evening of inspiring conversation, great food and a live auction featuring fabulous opportunities and experiences. 


Thanks to the generosity of our community, the MWL Foundation raised an amazing $27,600 during our Live Auction and Direct Appeal. If you didn’t get a chance to donate at the Wahl Lecture and would still like to, you may do so HERE. Many thanks to all who donated in support of the MWL Foundation’s mission!

About the MWL Foundation

The MWL Foundation is driven by the same values adopted by Minnesota Women Lawyers as part of its 2015 strategic planning process:  

Equality:             Promoting equality and diversity within the legal profession and the community. 

Leadership:        Developing women lawyers into leaders.
Community:       Engaging and celebrating a diverse community of women lawyers.

The MWL Foundation fulfills its mission by 1) supporting and funding existing MWL projects that fit its charitable activity criteria; 2) considering additional charitable projects and services that meet MWL's mission; and 3) working to support MWL's overall long-term financial stability.
