MWL Announces its 2020 Conference, Seminar Proposals Now Being Accepted

The 2020 MWL Conference for Women in the Law:

Forward Progress: Leadership, Innovation & Inclusion 


Minnesota Women Lawyers is pleased to announce the 2020 MWL Conference for Women in the Law, to be held on Friday, April 24th, 2020 at the Marriott City Center in downtown Minneapolis. The goals of the MWL Conference are to collaborate across MWL’s statewide legal community, to provide high-value programming of interest to our diverse membership, and to create meaningful networking opportunities. All members of Minnesota’s legal community are welcome to attend.


The MWL Conference will feature a full day of programming, geared towards the diverse practice areas and experience levels represented by MWL's membership and the legal community. 

MWL Seeks RFP Proposals for Breakout Session Seminars


Seminar proposals are welcome on a wide-variety of topics, including but not limited to:


1) Addressing the Conference’s theme: Forward Progress: Leadership, Innovation & Inclusion

2) Addressing issues of bias and inequity within the legal profession; 

3) Addressing issues of diversity and inclusion;

4) Developing core competencies; 
5) Building skill and expertise within specific legal/practice areas; 
6) Developing leadership skills;
7) Attaining leadership positions outside of the legal community;

8) Ethics in the legal profession;
9) Developing and supporting mentoring relationships;

10) Other topics of particular interest to our diverse membership audience.


2020 Conference registration will open in early 2020.

·Networking opportunities;

·Marketing: name and employer listed in promotional materials; bio listed in Conference program.


Please note: MWL is unable to pay honorarium fees or reimburse for travel or other related expenses.  

TO SUBMIT: Please complete and submit the ONLINE FORM HERE or print, complete and email the PDF FORM to MWL Program and Project Coordinator Katie Gunaratne ( by October 25th, 2019. Feel free to attach or submit any additional information as appropriate.



PLEASE NOTE: The 2020 MWL Conference Planning Committee will review all proposals and in its sole discretion, select the presentations for inclusion in the 2020 MWL Conference for Women in the Law program.  Submitting a presentation proposal does not guarantee a place on the agenda. The primary contact listed on the proposal will be notified of whether or not their proposal has been selected by December 9th, 2019.
