MWL Announces Law Student Scholarship

Minnesota Women Lawyers is pleased to announce its MWL Law Student Scholarship, made possible through the generous donations of MWL members and supporters.


The goal of the MWL scholarship is to provide aid to students attending a Minnesota law school who demonstrate an interest in furthering the mission of Minnesota Women Lawyers, "To advance the success of women in the legal profession and strive for a just society.”


The following criteria will be considered:

  • Students must be currently attending a Minnesota law school and in good academic standing.
  • Students must demonstrate a commitment to the advancement of women in the legal profession and/or women’s issues;
  • Preference given to students who exhibit support and motivation for the mission of MWL through participation with MWL or other groups with a similar mission.

During FY13-14, up to two (2) scholarships will be awarded, in the amount of $1,000 each. The scholarship recipient(s) will be required to sign a document stating that the award will be used for educational purposes.


To apply for this scholarship, please submit a completed scholarship application, resume, a personal statement (no longer than two pages in length) addressing your specific qualifications related to the criteria for the scholarship, and a letter of recommendation including contact information. Applications will be accepted via email or U.S. Mail, and must be postmarked Monday, March 10th, 2014 or received in the MWL office via email on Monday, March 10th, 2014 by 5:00 p.m.
