So You Want to Start A Virtual Practice?

By: Stephanie Kimbro

First Step in Choosing a Structure

The first step to setting up a virtual law office (VLO) is to find the resources from your state bar regarding virtual law practice and other forms of e-lawyering. Member Spotlight: Christine Swanson

1. Why did you join MWL?
I joined MWL while attending law school in order to become more involved in the legal community and meet women attorneys. I’ve been extremely fortunate to meet many wonderful women through MWL who I keep in touch with as friends. For example, one of the law school students who I mentored through the MWL Mentorship program, Shannon Gherty Anderson (now an attorney at Briggs & Morgan), invited me to her beautiful wedding. I found that to be very touching.

2. What do you enjoy most about your job?
I enjoy interacting with my clients and assisting them in obtaining piece of mind with regard to their estate planning needs. I also love the flexibility of creating my own schedule as a solo practitioner.
